WEDDINGS IN THE ORANGERY
Light, bright, and the perfect spot for both a ceremony and the most elegant, but relaxed of afternoon teas. Relax, kick back and enjoy, the no fuss, no bother, absolutely won’t break the bank, way to get married. Just you two, your very nearest and dearest, all together for a classic and elegant wedding, followed by traditional afternoon tea or a grazing buffet for up to 30 adults and 5 children (and a couple of wee doggies!). A real hideaway from the rest of the world.
Ceremony Spaces
In fabulous weather, you are welcome to hold your ceremony on the Orangery terrace making the most of the magnificent views. The view is simply the perfect frame for your ceremony and photos. If the weather closes in or it’s a bit chilly outside, the Orangery itself is a gorgeous ceremony space, with the stunning views still framed perfectly from the full length doors.
Food & Drink
Circular tables will be set ready with gold cutlery, gold and white table settings or vintage tea sets, all with crisp white napkins and crystal glasses. Optional chandeliers and bud vases with seasonal flowers complete the table set up, but you’re very welcome to bring your own décor, with the Orangery opened up for you 2 hours before your ceremony and guests arrive.
Imagine drinks on the Terrace, or in The Orangery, followed by afternoon tea, or a twlight buffet. Simple, yummy, elegant. No fuss or stress. We welcome BYO for your intimate wee wedding. Just order your drinks for delivery before you arrive, and we will make sure that they are chilling in the fridges for your arrival, but if you just want all that taken care of too, please just let us know, and we can arrange a drinks package for you through our partner Ian at ‘The Wandering Bar’.

What is a Day or Twilight Wedding at Alexander House? A Day or Twilight Wedding at Alexander House is an intimate, elegant celebration for up to 30 adults and 5 children, held in our beautiful Orangery in Perthshire, Scotland. Day Weddings run from midday to 5pm, while Twilight Weddings run from 4pm to 9pm and include a firepit with s’mores. Both packages include afternoon tea or a relaxed finger buffet, gorgeous table settings, and exclusive use of the Orangery and grounds — all at a price that won’t break the bank.
How much does a Day or Twilight Wedding cost at Alexander House? For 2026/27, Day Weddings (midday–5pm) are priced at £50 per person midweek and £75 per person at weekends. Twilight Weddings (4–9pm) are £75 per person midweek and £100 per person at weekends. Optional canapés with your drinks reception are available at £7.50 per person. A minimum of 20 guests applies, with a maximum of 30 adults and 5 children.
Where can we hold our ceremony at Alexander House? You have several beautiful options. In good weather, ceremonies can be held on the Orangery front terrace or inside The Orangery, both with breathtaking views of the Perthshire countryside as your backdrop.
How many guests can we invite to a Day or Twilight Wedding? Day and Twilight Weddings at Alexander House accommodate a minimum of 20 guests and a maximum of 30 adults plus 5 children. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome! It’s the perfect format for an intimate celebration with your very nearest and dearest.
What food and drink is included in a Day or Twilight Wedding package? Your package includes a choice of traditional afternoon tea or a relaxed finger buffet, served on elegant gold and white china or mix-and-match vintage tea sets. A Victoria or Chocolate Sponge wedding cake, finger sandwiches, brioche buns, savoury nibbles, themed cakes, tea, coffee and a celebratory glass to toast the newlyweds are all included. Alexander House is BYO-friendly — simply arrange delivery before your arrival and drinks will be chilled ready for you. A drinks package can also be arranged through bar partner The Wandering Bar.
Can we decorate the Orangery ourselves? Absolutely. The Orangery is opened up for you 2 hours before your ceremony and guests arrive, giving you time to add your own personal touches. The tables are already beautifully dressed with gold cutlery, crystal glasses and crisp white napkins, with optional chandeliers and seasonal bud vases available. You’re warmly welcome to bring your own décor to make the space uniquely yours.
Is accommodation available for a Day or Twilight Wedding at Alexander House? Yes! Glamping accommodation is available on site through Enchanted Glamping, making it perfect for a post-wedding mini-moon or for getting ready on the morning of your wedding. Accommodation is available for up to 6 adults and 2 children, including Yurt Bramble, Yurt Heather and Lorry Juniper. A minimum 2-night stay applies. Dogs are welcome in selected units.
Is Alexander House available for weddings all year round? The house is available year round, however the Orangery is closed in December, January and February. Outdoor ceremonies on the terrace is weather-dependent.
Where is Alexander House located? Alexander House is set high in the Perthshire hills near Gleneagles, Auchterarder, Scotland. It is approximately 1 hour from both Edinburgh and Glasgow, and around 20 minutes from Perth and Stirling — making it easily accessible for guests travelling from across Scotland and beyond.
Is Alexander House a dog-friendly wedding venue? Yes! Alexander House warmly welcomes well-behaved dogs at Day and Twilight Weddings, and selected glamping accommodation on site is also dog-friendly. It’s one of the reasons couples love celebrating here — the whole family really can come along.
