Those little things that just make the day a bit smoother?
No 1. Use Venue Recommended Suppliers
Every good venue will have a list of recommended suppliers. There aren’t any catches here, your venue will be recommending these suppliers, because they know the venue, and have provided a fabulous service at your venue before. Trust us, if a supplier doesn’t deliver, or offers a poor service, they are straight off the AH recommended suppliers list! Set in the Heart of Scotland, you’ll find lots of our suppliers will travel the length and breadth of Scotland & often the UK, so here’s our list for you too, wherever you may be.

No 2. Use Your Best man / Sister / One of your Loud Guests or Ushers as the master of ceremonies
Yep, a big voice helps here, but isn’t a necessity, a certain presence is what’s required! And friends and family love to be included. One of your guests is born for this job, and you’ll know exactly who it is – so ask them! They will be proud as punch to be asked and do a fantastic and much more personal job than your venue, the caterer or your bar provider would! Here at AH we are on hand to help with this if you’d like, but we’ll likely be enlisting the help of your guests to give us a hand with this anyway, we can spot that guest or family member a mile off 😊!
No 3. Have Some Clear Umbrellas on Hand
Ok, Ok, so we know it’s not going to rain on your wedding day, the sun is going to shine, and you’ll be on the lawns with a cocktail in hand, however, just in case…….so as not to spoil the photos with logos all over branded ones, do just have a few of these in reserve! Here at Alexander House we obviously have a few of these available for you to borrow already….
No 4. Entertain Your Guests Through the Drinks Reception
Remember to have something in place to entertain your guests through the drinks reception. You’ll be very busy with photos during part of the drinks reception. Here at AH, as part of our packages we can lend you a selection of outdoor games which work brilliantly on the lawn in the summer, but how about a fantastic magician, live artist or balloon modeller? (And if you fancy one of those paint trees, please hire in someone to manage it for you, as they are super lovely, but not super lovely when they are on the venue walls, and all you end up with is a smudged, very not Picasso picture, because they really aren’t as easy as they look on TikTok!)
No 5. Tickets as Your Wedding Favours
Why not have tickets as your Wedding Favour, to allow one free drink at the bar? Chat to your bar provider about how to do this, as they may well have some brilliant suggestions, whether it’s gorgeous cocktail trees, or a simple pint of coke, this is something everyone will enjoy!
